RXBAR

RXBAR is a Chicago-based protein-bar brand acquired by Kellogg (now Kellanova) in 2017. The core line uses an unusually short ingredient list — egg whites, dates, nuts, natural flavors and cocoa or fruit depending on flavor — that scores better than most competing protein bars on NOVA and the FoodScore rubric, landing most variants in NOVA 3 rather than 4. Sodium stays modest, added sugar is entirely from dates (not a separate sugar penalty under the formula), and each bar delivers ~12g of protein.
